You make a character (more about that in How to make RP's in the RP sign up-board) and pretty much take control of him and interact with other people. Heres a few things to use in RP's --------------------------------- ((Post out of character things here. If you need ask something, like "Whats going on, i'm lost (in the RP)", put them here. Any thing that you, and not your character, needs to say.)) --------------------------------- "Put things your character says here." --------------------------------- * Type /me and then type what your character thinks, though you must end it in a period, exclamation mark, or question mark. --------------------------------- Just type like this to indicate actions, and stuff like you would see in a book, like , then he said... and whatnot. --------------------------------- type ---------------------------------- this to transition between characters, if you have more than one I'll post and example of a couple posts in a RP. Varas Quote: Varas walked the lonely streets of the town that, though once seemed vibrant and lively, now was cold and full of hatred. He held his sword in his hand tight, as he knew something was about to happen. He twirled around instantly, and yelled, "Who's there?!". * What's going on here? Alex Quote: Alex slid out of the shadows behind the column the other man was staring at. "Hehehe. Lookie whos come out ta play!" As he pulled out his Long dagger, he dissapeared again, not waiting for the other person to react. Varas Quote: Varas held his sword higher, and pointed it out. "Stop playing games with me, Alex! I know who you are!". Varas tried to hide his fear. * Well, i know hes just messing with me, but at least its better than being dead..... * i hope. End example. Thats just an example, and i've been told that i'm very literate, so you need not post so literate, just things kinda like that. Some rules. 1 Arguably the most important rule: You cannot control someone elses character! Not at all! You can't control what they say, you can't control what they do, you can't control what they feel, you can't control what they think! The other person MADE the character, not you! They get to control them, not you! They control everything they say, do, feel, and think. They make the characters personality, and if you control them, they won't have the same personality. This is the most major rule in my eyes. Follow it! 2. NO GODMODDING/POWERPALYIN'! You cannot make someone do something they didn't say they did. If you are in a fight, you can't auto-matically hit someone. Example: Bad: Varas jumped at Alex and stabed his sword through the other mans gut. good: Varas jumed at Alex and tried to stab his sword through the other mans gut. 3. To go with that, you can't always dodge. You aren't invincible, either. If someone says something like the "good" example above, you can't always say "Alex jumped back, barely being missed." Sometimes you have to take hits. 4. Also, you can't make your character have infinite power or be invincible or anything like that. Your character, unless you are the ultimate good guy/ultimate bad guy, cannot move a mountain, or see through walls, or stuff like that (unless the RP permits it). 5.And also you can't kill off anyone else character without the persons permission. I'll add more when i think of it.
